Plumber, Pipefitter, Welder, HVAC apprentices
UA apprentices learn through both classroom and on-the-job training in what is considered by many to be the best construction industry apprentice program in the world. The five-year apprenticeship period is divided into one-year segments, each of which includes 1,600hrs of on-the-job training and a minimum of 216 hours of related classroom instruction.
Plumbers & Steamfitters UA Local 83 has been proudly building and serving the homes, schools, hospitals, businesses, manufacturing, chemical, oil & gas and power plants of the Ohio Valley since 1912. We are a multi-craft union, representing and training our membership in the Plumbing, Pipefitting, Welding, Refrigeration, Controls, and Air Conditioning industries.

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• Must be a High School graduate or have received a GED and provide a transcript or GED Certificate,
• Birth Certificate, Social Security Card and DD214 form if a Veteran
• Must be physically able to do the work of the trade.
• Must pass a written test and oral interview.
• Currently live within or be moving within our jurisdictional area.
• Submit to and pass drug screening test if accepted.
• Applicants are selected for employment / training on a non-discriminatory basis.
