Safety & Occupational Health Manager (Chief, Fire Protection)

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position. Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of qualifying experience are: Experience in developing comprehensive national fire protection policy and recommending safety and occupational health policy to higher levels of management. Experience in mastering the operational principles, practices and techniques required to make sound judgments in maintenance and design. Experience which demonstrates expert knowledge as it relates to national fire codes and bureau policy. Experience in reviewing construction and renovation drawings, as well as project proposals during development phases to ensure compliance with national fire codes and bureau fire protection policies. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience.
